The DMK on October 11 appealed to the Chief Justices of the Supreme Court and Madras High Court to initiate contempt proceedings against AIADMK workers for allegedly denigrating the Karnataka special court judge who convicted AIADMK leader J Jayalalithaa in the wealth case.

The ruling AIADMK on October 10 disowned two petitions filed in the Karnataka High Court and the Madras High Court seeking a shift of party supremo J Jayalalithaa from Bengaluru prison to Tamil Nadu and a direction for her continuance as the Chief Minister.
