Chennai:
The ruling AIADMK on October 10 disowned two petitions filed in the Karnataka High Court and the Madras High Court seeking a shift of party supremo J Jayalalithaa from Bengaluru prison to Tamil Nadu and a direction for her continuance as the Chief Minister.
AIADMK headquarters secretary and Minister for Higher Education P Palaniappan, condeming the petitions, said, “These petitions have been deliberately filed with malicious and evil intentions. The AIADMK general secretary is in no way connected with these petitions.”
Palaniappan described these petitions as a conspiracy by adversaries to create a wrong impression about the AIADMK leader among the judges at a time when she had filed a petition seeking bail at the Supreme Court.
Palaniappan said the team of lawyers working for the AIADMK chief alone would handle petitions to be filed on her behalf, adding that no one should file any petition before any court without her permission.
