Chennai:
AIADMK (Puratchithalaivi Amma) leader O Panneerselvam has described the decision of the ruling AIADMK (Amma) group to remove the Sasikala family from the party as a “first victory” for his Dharmayudham. The two AIADMK groups would hold talks regarding unity, he added.
Talking to mediapersons in Chennai on April 19, Panneerselvam said it was the aim of his party to free the AIADMK from the clutches of Sasikala, Dhinakaran and other members of her family, and restore the party to its moorings of being a workers’ party, and a people’s party.
He said the AIADMK leaders, late MGR and Jayalalithaa had always ensured that it was a party for the people and the workers but this was destroyed by Sasikala and company.
He said his party would continue the Dharmayudham to make it a workers’ party again.
