Chennai:
Ousted deputy general secretary T T V Dhinakaran has decided to take the fight to the ruling AIADMK(Amma) and has convened a
meeting of party MLAs and district secretaries at party headquarters on April 19 afternoon. The ruling AIADMK faction led by chief
minister Edappadi Palaniswamy has gone below the majority mark in terms of MLAs support in the Assembly, with assured support
of only 113 in a House of 234.
Dhinakaran has asked all MLAs to attend the meeting scheduled for 3 p.m. on April 19. He is expected to lead a rival group in a bid
to capture the party and the government even while the dominant AIADMK (Amma ) group had the support of most of the ministers.
Stormy scenes are expected at the AIADMK headquarters as Dhinakaran and his supporters may be denied entry. Police may be
instructed to deny them entry into the building, which could lead to unseemly scenes.
Dhinakaran is trying to rally round support among party MLAs and functionaires.
ThangaTamizhselvan (Andipatti), Subramani (Sattur), Kadhirkamu (Periyakulam), Jaggaiyan (Cumbum), Selvamohandas (Tenkasi),
