Chennai:
AIADMK legislature party leader and general secretary Edappadi Palanisamy met Governor C Vidyasagar Rao at the Raj Bhavan here this evening and staked his claim to form a new government. He is said to have handed over a copy of the LP resolution, unanimously electing him as the LP leader, and a list of 126 party MLAs who were supporting him.
Meanwhile, the AIADMK's go-between for the BJP and the OPS group, V Maitreyan met the Governor immediately thereafter. On what basis, Maitreyan is allowed to frequently visit the Raj Bhavan and meet the Governor on a regular basis.
The Governor is clearly leaning on one side when it comes to handling his duties in the present political crisis.
It is this open support that the Governor lends to the OPS group which is a key factor in the campaign of OPS and his supporters against the main Legislature party group.
