Koilpatti:
MDMK general secretary and co-ordinator of People’s Welfare Alliance (PWA) Vaiko has decided not to contest the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, and has blamed the DMK for creating conflicts in Koilpatti constituency from where he intended to file his nomination on April 25.
Vaiko said efforts were made to create caste disturbance in Koilpatti on April 24 by an organization claiming to follow Pon Muthuramalinga (Thevar).
A black-flag demonstration was also held against Vaiko on April 25 morning.
Meanwhile, senior leader of VCK and a constituent of PWA, D Ravikumar, appealed to Vaiko to reverse his decision and urged him to contest the elections.
