Chennai:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will campaign for BJP candidates contesting the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections sometime in May 2016, BJP state unit president Tamizhisai Sounderrajan said on April 11.
Modi would visit Tamil Nadu in May to undertake the election campaign, Tamizhisai told mediapersons in Chennai.
Over 20 national leaders of the BJP would also visit the State to campaign for the party, she added.
Modi had addressed a rally in Coimbatore on February 2, but the party could not convince any of its 2014 allies like DMDK and PMK to join the rally. The NDA has disintegrated in the State, with the DMDK leading a separate front, while the PMK is contesting on its own strength.
