Chennai:
Tamil Maanila Congress (TMC) leader G K Vasan declined to indicate if his party would join the Vijayakanth-led CVF for the May 16 Tamil Nadu Assembly polls and said his party was yet to make up its mind on the alliance question.
Vasan told mediapersons on March 23 that his party would announce its decision on an alliance for the elections in due course.
He parried questions on whether the TMC would join the CVF or the AIADMK-led alliance.
Vasan said he had wide-ranging discussions with senior party colleagues, the nearly 4,000 ticket aspirants for the elections and others on the party stand in the elections. A decision would be announced in due course, he added.
Asked about Vijayakanth's decison to forge an alliance with the PWF and whether the TMC would join this third front, Vasan said every party and front was welcome to make efforts to strengthen itself, and to that extent he welcomed the efforts of Vijayakanth to strengthen the front.
