Tiruchirapalli:
Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK) general secretary Vaiko has said that the People Welfare Front (PWF) was going up in popularity and would emerge as a leading front in the 2016 Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu.
Vaiko, while addressing a meeting of party workers at Mannachanallur near Tiruchirapalli January 3, said both the the AIADMK and the DMK had lost the confidence of the people. The AIADMK government had failed in terms of governance. The AIADMK government was thoroughly exposed in its handling of the rains and floods in several parts of the State including Chennai. Relief and rehabilitation efforts were yet to reach the needy, he said.
The DMK was still remembered for its misrule in the past, Vaiko said, adding that the PWF alone had a clean image. The popularity of the front was on the up, the PWF co-ordinator said.
