Several lakes have breached in Tamil Nadu due to floods

Chennai:
Several lakes and reservoirs across Tamil Nadu were reaching full level, while authorities have released water to adjoining areas to prevent breach. Thoosivaagai lake in Cheyyaar,Tiruvannamalai district, has breached, according to authorities. With water being let out from the lake, adjoining areas face the threat of floods.
Rama river in Tirunelveli district is also overflowing.
Suganadhi in Tiruvannamalai district too faces the danger of breach near Vazhur-Marudhanadu road in Vandavasi.
Vaaniyaru in Dharmapuri district is full due to heavy inflow of rain water.
The Gavurapaalayam lake in Avadi near Chennai has reached overflowing stage, and water is being let out.
Water is being let out from Pechipaarai reservoir in Kanyakumari district as it reached full level.
Traffic ongestion has hit several parts of Chennai as subways in the city roads were flooded. This has forced people to look for other routes, leading to chaos.
Suburban train services in Chennai have been affected by the rains, particularly due to flooding of subways.
