TN Assembly asks Centre to push for international probe on Lanka

The Tamil Nadu Assembly on September 16 adopted a resolution asking the Centre to push for an international probe against Sri Lanka in the UN for alleged war crimes.
The Tamil Nadu Assembly has also sought diplomatic efforts by the Centre to change any possible pro-Sri Lanka stand adopted by the US.
The special resolution moved by Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa was welcomed and supported by all the parties.
Parties like the DMK, CPI, CPM, TMC, Congress, Puthiya Tamizhagam, AIFB, All India Samathuva Makkal Katchi (AISMK) and others extended their support to the resolution. MDMK leader Vaiko also supported the resolution and said the Centre should back the move.
