N Srinivasan is geared to take over as chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC) at the annual conference in Melbourne to take place this week.
BCCI secretary Sanjay Patel said Srinivasan would proceed to Melbourne, and there was no bar or restraint order. Sanjay Patel pointed out that there was no Supreme Court bar on him.
Srinivasan and Sanjay Patel would proceed to Melbourne. In the last four months, the full members of the ICC had been briefed about the new structure and financial model which would be followed in the coming years, Sanjay Patel added.
A BCCI official said Srinivasan's elevation would only be a formal affair. In a matter of minutes, the ascension would be approved, he said.
The ICC Annual Conference Week would commence on June 24 with the associate and affiliate members’ meeting at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. The IDI Board meeting would be held on June 28. The Annual Conference is slated to be held on June 26.
