AIADMK wins Sulur Assembly bypoll by over 10,000 votes

Chennai:
P Kandaswamy (AIADMK) won the Sulur Assembly byelection, defeating his nearest DMK rival Pongalur N Palanisamy (DMK) by 10,113 votes.
Kandaswamy secured votes 100,782 votes (44.4 per cent) against 90,669 votes (39.94 per cent) of Palanisamy.
Among others who trailed were K Sugumar (AMMK) 16,530 votes , G. Mayilswamy (MNM) 6,644 votes, and Vijayaraghavan MV (NTK) 4,335. .
The seat was held by AIADMK in 2016.
22 Assembly constituencies are up for grabs in the by-elections in Tamil Nadu.
