AIADMK wins Paramakudi Assembly bypoll by over 14,000 votes

AIADMK candidate Sathan Prabhakar won the Paramakudi Assembly bypoll in Tamil Nadu, defeating his nearest DMK rival Sampathkumar S by 14,032 votes.
Sathan Prabhakar secured 82,438 votes (46.44 per cent) as against 68,406 votes (38.53 per cent) by Sampathkumar.
Among others trailing were Dr S Muthiah (AMMK) 9,672 votes (5.45 per cent), Shankar A (MNM) 5,421 votes (3.05 per cent), and Hemalatha K (NTK) 6,710 votes (3.78 per cent).
The seat was held by AIADMK in 2016.
22 Assembly constituencies are up for grabs in the by-elections in Tamil Nadu.
