DMK leads in 18 Lok Sabha constituencies in TN, AIADMK front in 2

DMK-led UPA has established early leads in 16 of 38 Lok Sabha constituencies in Tamil Nadu as counting commenced for Lok Sabha and 22 Assembly by-elections in the State. The AIADMK-BJP front was ahead in only two constituencies, Coimbatore and Tiruppur. Dayanidhi Maran and Kanimozhi Karunanidhi were ahead of their rivals when counting began for Chennai Central and Thoothukudi.
DMK candidates were ahead of nearest rivals of the AIADMK-BJP front in Tirunelveli, Namakkal, Sriperumbudur, Sivaganga, Kallakurichi, Chennai Central, Chennai South, Thoothukudi, Salem, Thanjavur, Trichy, Arani and Dindigul.
C P Radhakrishnan of the BJP was leading in Coimbatore.
