TN bus strike called off as Government concedes some demands

Chennai:
The indefinite bus strike by employees of Tamil Nadu transport corporations which began on May 15 has been called off by the unions following talks with the State Government on May 16 night. Normal bus services would be resumed from May 17 morning, the unions announced.
Tamil Nadu chief minister Edappadi Palaniswamy had agreed to provide Rs 1,250 crore towards past dues like pension amount to
bus crew.
The next round of discussions would be held on May 24, the Government and the unions announced on May 16 night.
