Sasikala's nephew, T V Mahadevan, dies of cardiac arrest

T V Mahadevan, nephew of AIADMK general secretary V K Sasikala, died of cardiac arrest on Saturday, April 15, near Thiruvidaimarudhur in Thanjavur district of Tamil Nadu.
Once considered powerful in the AIADMK, as he was appointed district secretary of the Jayalalithaa Peravai, the 47-year-old Mahadevan was said to an influential figure in Tiruchirapalli district and was dealing in real estate.
The son of Sasikala’s late brother Dr Vinodagan, he was said to have visited the Thiruvidaimarudhur temple near Thanjavur when he complained of chest pain. Mahadevan was rushed to a private hospital in Kumbakonam but was, however, declared brought dead.
His body is presently at a private hospital in Thanjavur.
Mahadevan was residing in Thanjavur and is survived by his wife and two sons.
Sources said Sasikala, who was convicted in the Disproportionate Assets case and lodged in the Parappana Agrahara jail in Bengaluru is likely to move the court seeking parole to attend the funeral.
