Chennai:
The battle for the RK Nagar bypoll in Chennai has heated up with the entry of AIADMK presidium chairman E Madhusudhanan, a leader of the OPS group, to oppose the DMK and the AIADMK (Sasikala group).
Madhusdhanan, a strongweight of the OPS group, had won the seat in 1991 and is a local partyman. He has entered the fray against
N Marudhu Ganesh of the DMK and TTV Dhinakaran of the AIADMK (Sasikala group).
The party's Parliamentary Board picked Madhusudhanan, its leader O Panneerselvam told mediapersons on March 16.
Meanwhile, both factions of the AIAMK were awaiting the decision of the Election Commission on allotment of the AIADMK's
Two-Leaves symbol. After a delegation of the OPS group met the CEC in New Delhi on March 15, a delegation of the Sasikala group
led by M Thambidurai met the CEC later to counter the claims of the OPS group.
