DMK candidate for RK Nagar byelection is new face Marudhu Ganesh

The DMK has fielded a former mediaperson, N Marudhu Ganesh alias NM Ganesh, as its candidate for the RK Nagar by-election scheduled to be held in Chennai on April 12. DMK general secretary K Anbazhagan made the announcement in a press release on March 15.
Marudhu Ganesh had earlier worked for Dinakaran as a Reporter in north Chennai, before joining the DMK full time.
The by-election is considered prestigious since the relative strengths of the various AIADMK groups and that of the DMK will be on test, after the demise of late chief minister J Jayalalithaa. She had won this constituency twice, in a by-election and later in the general elections held in 2016. The by-election has been caused by the death of Jayalalithaa.
