AIADMK fields Dhinakaran, DMK Marudhu Ganesh in bypoll

The ruling AIADMK has announced the candidature of Sasikala nephew and paty deputy general secretary TTV Dhinakaran for the Radhakrishnan Nagar constituency by-election to the Tamil Nadu Assembly, while the DMK has fielded N Marudhu Ganesh. The bypoll has been caused by the death of late chief minister J Jayalalithaa.
The AIADMK parliamentary board which met at the party headquarters on March 14 decided to field Dhinakaran as its candidate in the crucial by-election in Chennai which could indicate which way the wind is blowing in Tamil Nadu.
The AIADMK OPS group is expected to announce its candidate in a day or two, even as the Amma Deepa Peravai will also enter the fray with Jayalalithaa;s niece Deepa being its candidate.
The Congress and IUML have announced their support to the DMK in the by-election, while the Makkal Nala Koottani (People's Welfare Alliance) is yet to finalise its stand.
The PMK has decided to keep away from the by-election.
