Edappadi Palanisamy elected legislature party leader, to stake claim

Chennai:
Tamil Nadu minister for Public Works, Minor Ports and Highways Edappadi Palanisamy was on February 14 unanimously elected as
Leader of the AIADMK Legislature Party shortly after V K Sasikala stepped down from the post in the wake of the Supreme Court
order convicting Jayalalithaa, Sasikala and two others in the Disproportionate Assets case.
The meeting of the AIADMK MLAs was held at the resort where all the MLAs are staying. The meeting was attended by AIADMK
presidium chairman K A Sengottaiyan, treasurer Dindigul Seenivasan, besides V K Sasikala.
Later, addressing mediapersons, Edappadi Palanisamy said the AIADMK legislature party had unaimously chosen him as its leader.
The Legislature party resolution was faxed to the Governor, to stake claim to form the new government.
Edappadi Palanisamy said he expected the Governor to invite him to form the government. He said the invitation from the Governor was expected this evening.
