Chennai:
Not willing to take things lying down, AIADMK general secretary Sasikala has asked Tamil Nadu Acting Governor to provide her an immediate appointment today, for her to meet him along with the party MLAs regarding the need to take action on the Legislature Party decision asking her to take over as CM of Tamil Nadu.
In a letter to the Governor, Sasikala said it was seven days since O Panneerselvam resigned as CM, and the AIADMK Legislature Party resolution electing her as its leader had also been handed over to him. She pointed out that a delegation headed by her had also met him personally in this regard. However, the process of installing her as CM had been delayed, she said, asking the Governor to take necessary steps immediately (for the swearing in).
Sasikala asked the Governor to give her an appointment today for she and the party MLAs to meet him.
