Chennai:
AIADMK general secretary V K Sasikala announced the expulsion of presidium chairman E Madhusudhanan from primary membership and all posts after he joined hands with O Panneerselvam on Feb 9.
Acting swiftly, Sasikala also appointed party organising secretary and former minister K A Sengottaiyan as the new presidium chairman in place of Madhusudhanan.
Sengottaiyan later held discussions with the MLAs at a hotel in suburban Chennai.
Sasikala held discussions with ministers and senior leaders including MPs at her Poes Garden residence.
Both sides are getting ready for a show of strength in the Assembly.
Meanwhile, DMK working president M K Stalin declined to spell out his party's stand during a confidence vote in the Assembly. Asked if the DMK would support OPS, Stalin evaded the question and did not want to talk to the media on the issue.
