Chennai:
A supremely confident Sasikala, speaking to mediapersons at her Poes Garden residence after a late-night meeting to counter O
Panneerselvam's salvo, said the AIADMK was fully intact and was together like a family, and pooh-poohed Panneerselvam's charges
against the party leadership. She also said he would be removed from primary membership of the party shortly.
Sasikala accused the DMK of being behind Panneerselvam's baseless charges against the AIADMK leadership. To give an example,
she pointed out how OPS and DMK working president M K Stalin were seen constantly smiling at each other during the Assembly
proceedings for over four days.
Asked whether the Governor was deliberately delaying the swearing in of the new chief minister, she said she would leave it to the
opinion of the mediaperson who asked the question.
However, she was forthright when it came to the DMK, accusing the opposition party of instigating Panneerselvam, and trying to
create a division in the AIADMK.
Sasikala denied Panneerselvam's charge that he was pressurised into resigning from the CM post. There was no pressure whatsoever,
she said.
Meanwhile, Lok Sabha deputy speaker and senior AIADMK leader said 134 MLAs had attended the meeting at the Poes Garden on
Feb 7 night, showing that Panneerselvam was all alone, as a single MLA. There was no crisis or confusion in the AIADMK as the
entire party stood with Chinnamma, he added.
Panneerselvam's charges were bogus and baseless, Thambidurai said.
Asked if the BJP was behind Panneerselvam's protest and plan, Thambidurai said, "The DMK was behind Panneerselvam".
