Tamil Nadu film stars fast for a day on Jallikattu issue

Tamil film actors Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Surya, Ajith, Dhanush, Vishal and others observed a day's fast organised by the South Indian
Film Artistes Association (Nadigar Sangam) on January 20 in support of the call for Jallikattu events in the State. They demanded
lifting of the ban on Jallikattu. Music director A R Rahman too observed a day long fast to express his solidarity with the cause.
Association office-bearers Nasser and Vishal said they did not want to take the spotlifght away from the protestors on the Marina
beach, and requested the media not to cover their fast.
The artistes observed a silent protest.
Rahman had tweeted yesterday, "I'm fasting tomorrow to support the spirit of Tamilnadu!"
He added further: "Join me on periscope today at 6.14 pm IST as I have the first glass of water to break my fast..."
Other actors present were Sivakumar, K Bagyaraj, Sathyaraj, R Parthiban, Prabhu, Mansoor Ali Khan, Sivakarthikeyan, Santhanam, Ramesh Khanna, former AIADMK member Anandaraj, Manobala, Y Gee Mahendran, Narain, Rahman, Trisha, Shalini, and the SIAA vice president Ponvannan, executive committee members including Kovai Sarala and Poochi Murugan.
