Stalin, thousands of DMK workers arrested for Rail Roko on Jallikattu issue

DMK working president M K Stalin led thousands of DMK workers in a Rail Roko agitation to protest the ban on Jallikattu and
demanding that the sport be held. Stalin and several thousand DMK leaders and workers were arrested in various parts of Tamil
Nadu.
Stalin was arrested at Mambalam station, while Karunanidhil's daughter and party MP, Kanimozhi, courted arrest at Egmore railway
station.
DMK workers squatted on tracks and in front of trains as rail services were affected in various parts of Tamil Nadu on January 20.
Train services to other parts of India were re-scheduled and regulated in view of the strike.
The DMK has organised a day-long fast at Valluvar Kottam in Chennai on May 21 in which party MLAs and MPs would take part, Stalin soon after he was released in the evening.
