Puducherry CM Narayansamy wins Nellithope bypoll

Puducherry:
Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayanasamy has won the Nellithope by-election by a comfortable margin of 11,144 votes, defeating his nearest AIADMK rival Om Sakthi. The decks have thus been cleared for Narayanasamy to continue his term as CM.
Narayanasamy led right from the first round, when he secured 6,779 votes, as against AIADMK's Om Sakthi 2,819 votes.
The by-election was caused by the resignation of Congress MLA A. John Kumar.
The AIADMK candidate was supported by AINRC led by former CM N Rangasamy and the BJP, while the DMK supported the Congress.
