Election in Aravakurichi postponed to May 23, counting on May 25

The Chief Election Commission has ordered postponement of election in Aravakurichi constituency to May 23, 2016.
The EC has resorted to the postponement in view of seizures and several complaints against AIADMK and DMK parties of use of money power with a view to influence the electorate.
The EC has used its constitutional power to postpone election to Aravakurichi constituency in TN following allegations of use of money power by candidates, the Commission said in a press reloease on May 14 night.
