Pudhiya Tamizhagam allotted 4 seats in DMK-led front

The DMK has strengthened its front by adding Pudhiya Tamizhagam (PT) to its alliance for the May 16 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. The PT has been allotted four seats in the front.
PT leader Krishnasamy met DMK president M Karunanidhi at his Gopalapuram residenc ein Chennai on April 7 and discussed the election scenario. The PT agreed to be part of the alliance.
While the PT demanded six seats, it has been allotted four seats, leaders of the two sides announced after the meeting. DMK treasurer M K Stalin and Kanimozhi were present at the meeting.
Krishnasamy said the list of constituencies had been handed over to the DMK for finalization of allotment. Leaders of the two parties would meet again on April 8 morning to finalise the seat allocation.
The DMK has so far finalised allotment of 58 seats to its allies including 41 to the Congress, 5 each to the IUML and MMK.
