AIADMK drops 100 MLAs in list of candidates

Chennai:
The AIADMK has dropped nearly a hundred MLAs in allotment of party tickets for the May 2016 Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu. The list released by party supremo J Jayalalithaa on April 4 also reveals that 10 ministers have been denied tickets.
There are several new faces in the list while some former MLAs have also been given an opportunity again.
K A Sengottaiyan, who was dropped from the cabinet and party post earlier, has now got a ticket for the Gobichettipalayam constituency.
Former minister C Ponnaiyan has been fielded from Saidapet.
31 women figure in the AIADMK list of candidates.
Forner minister and ex-DMDK MLA, Panruti S Ramachandran, will contest from Alandur. Among other leaders who quit various parties and joined the AIADMK to be given party tickets now are former DMK MLA Parithi Elamvazhuthi, former DMDK MLA K. Pandiarajan, former PMK leaders M. Kalaiarasu and P.T. Elangovan, former PMK MP, in Dharmapuri.
