Jayalalithaa to contest from R K Nagar, AIADMK releases list of 234 candidates

Tamil Nadu chief minister and AIADMK general secretary J Jayalalithaa will contest the May 2016 Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu from R K Nagar constituency in Chennai. There is no room for TMC in the list released by AIADMK general secretary Jayalalithaa today. The AIADMK list including a few minor allies has been announced for 234 seats in the State. In Puducherry, the AIADMK will contest all the seats on its own strength.
Assembly Speaker P Dhanapal will contest from Avinasi constituency, and deputy Speaker Pollachi Jayaraman from Pollachi, while senior Ministers O Panneerselvam (Bodinayakanar) and Natham Viswanathan (Alandur) are prominent among 17 Ministers who have been given the party ticket again.
Former minister Panruti S Ramachandran will contest the May 16 elections from Alandur. Ministers Pa Valarmathi, Gokula Indira, P Thangamani , K C Veeramani, SP Velumani will contest from Thousand Lights, Anna Nagar, Kumarapalayam, Jolarpet and Thondamuthur respectively. Former DGP R Nataraj will seek election from Mylapore. Former minister K A Sengottaiyan stages a comeback in the party and will fight the election from Gobichettipalayam.

Balraj (Thiruvottriyur), are among the candidates in the list.
Among the allies, Sarath Kumar (Tiruchendur), C K Tamizharasan (Madurantakam), Thaniyarasu (Kangeyam), Karunas (Thiruvadanai), Sheikh Dawood (Kadayanallur), Tamimun Ansari (Nagapattinam), figure in the list of candidates released by the AIADMK.
Ministers Palaniappan, M S Anandan and Mukkoor Subramanian have been denied party ticket this time.
