DMK allots 2 more seats to two allies for TN polls

The DMK, seeking to expand its front for the May 16 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, has finalized deals with two more parties. On March 29, DMK president M Karunanidhi allotted a seat each to the Vivasaayigal Thozhilaalargal Katchi and the Perunthalaivar Makkal Katchi.
The Vivasaayigal Thozhilaalargal Katchi leader Pon Kumar said the DMK had allotted one seat to the party. Pon Kumar is expected to be the candidate on behalf of his party. An agreement to this effect was signed by DMK treasurer M K Stalin and Pon Kumar.
Meanwhile, the Perunthalaivar Makkal Katchi led by N R Dhanapalan also reached an agreement with the DMK to contest from one seat. Dhanapalan is expected to contest from this constituency allotted to the party by DMK.
With this, the DMK has finalized allocation of 12 seats to its allies including 5 each to IUML and Manidhaneya Makkal Katchi ledby Jawahirullah.
