Villupuram:
The Crime Branch CID, which has taken over the case relating to the death of three students of SVS College of Naturopathy and Yoga Science, began its probe with a team of officials from the investigating agency on January 30, 2016.
Police sources said the documents and case diary files were handed over by the Chinna Salem police to the CB-CID team.
CB-CID Superintendent of Police S. Nagajothi inspected the college hostel and the well in Bangaram where the bodies of the three girls were found.
The team is likely to file a petition before the Kallakurichi court on February 1 seeking custody of Vasuki Subramanian, administrator of the college.
On January 23, three students V. Priyanka, T. Monisha and E. Saranya were said to have committed suicide by jumping into a well over alleged harassment by the management demanding “exorbitant” fees.
The victims’ families alleged that the students were murdered and their bodies dumped in the well as they had confronted the management about monetary exploitation a few months ago.
