T K Rajendran is new Greater Chennai Police Commissioner

The Tamil Nadu Government has appointed IPS officer T K Rajendran as the new Greater Chennai Police Commissioner. Home Secretary Apurva Varma announced the change on October 9 night. S George, the current Police Commissioner, has been moved out as IG of Prisons.
Rajendran is currently ADGP, Law and Order, Chennai.
George has been shifted to the Prisons department. He will now be ADGP/Inspector General of Prisons, the Home Secretary said.
In a consequential change, J K Tripathy, now IG of Prisons, takes over as ADGP, Law and Order, Chennai, in place of T K Rajendran.
