Anna Medal award winners announced:
Chennai, September 14: 100 Police personnel from the rank of Superintendent of Police to the rank of Grade-I Police Constables have been awarded the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Anna Medal in recognition of their devotion to duty, Principal Secretary to Government, Home, Prohibition and Excise Department, Apurva Varma, said here on September 14.
In addition, 10 Fire and Rescue Service personnel from the rank of District Officer to Fireman, 10 Prison Service personnel from the rank of Superintendent to Grade II Warder, 8 Home Guards personnel in the ranks of Section Leader, Company Commander, Home Guard and Platoon Commander and also two Deputy Superintendents of Police in police Finger Print Science for their excellence service, have also been selected for the Anna Medal. In all, 130 personnel have been awarded the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Anna Medal.
The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Medals are announced and awarded on the occasion of Anna’s birthday on September 15 every year.
The recipients of the above Medal are eligible for a bronze medal and a lump sum grant according to the ranks as specified in the Medal Rules. These Medals will be presented by the Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa at a Ceremonial Medal Parade to be held in due course, Apurva Varma said.
