Acting with Amitabh a great honour: Akshara:
Chennai: Akshara Haasan, who is making her debut in Hindi film Shamitabh, says she deemed acting with Amitabh Bachchan a great honour. Akshara Haasan is the daughter of veteran actor Kamal Haasan.
The film Shamitabh, starring Amitabh, Dhanush and Akshara, is scheduled for release on February 6, 2015.
The cast of Shamitabh was present at a college near Chennai for an interaction with students and the media. However, Amitabh could not make it to the event as he was reportedly indisposed.
Amitabh helped her discover acting skills, Akshara said, adding that the experience would help her perform better in future.
Dhanush, who is paired with Akshara in the film, said he was not nervous while doing his first shot with Amitabh. "I was just excited about working in the film. It was director Balki who convinced me that I could do the role".
Dhanush added that he had waited for nearly eight months for this script and he was sure it would be appreciated by audiences. His first Hindi film 'Raanjhanaa' was a hit at the box-office.
Director Balki said the film is about a clash of egos. An individual who thinks that he could achieve things alone is wrong. To achieve things and to be successful,
you need to have a team and you must believe in team-work, he added.
Balki said Ilayaraja was music personified. Ilayaraja meant more to him than just music, he said adding that Ilayaraja was a source of inspiration.
Ilayaraja's music score for Shamitabh was simply special, Balki said.
A feature of the film is that Amitabh has lent his voice to Dhanush.
