Chennai: The DMK on October 8 faulted the AIADMK government in Tamil Nadu for what it called its failure to maintain law and order and allowing deterioration of the situation following the conviction of former chief minister J Jayalalithaa in the DA case, and urged the Centre to prevent atrocities against the people.
The DMK District Secretaries meeting, chaired by party president M Karunanidhi, discussed the law and order situation and urged the Union government “to take steps to put an end to atrocities committed against people”.
The meeting adopted resolutions stating that it would hold peaceful demonstrations in a democratic manner to highlight the hardship caused to people by the acts of AIADMK activists including their protests against a court verdict.
