New Delhi:
Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa is understood to have taken up the demand of Tamil Nadu government for compensation to the State in relation to sales tax, during her meeting with Union Finance minister Arun Jaitley in Delhi on Tuesday.
Jayalalitha met Jaitley, who also holds the portfolios of Corporate and Defence.
Jayalalithaa discussed the State's financial issues with Jaitley and senior officers of the Ministry of Finance including Finance secretary Arvind Mayaram and Ratan P Watal, Expenditure Secretary among others. She was accompanied by the Chief Secretary and other senior officers of Tamil Nadu.
