Chennai:
AIADMK supremo and Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa on Tuesday removed Labour Minister K P Munusamy from two key party posts, including the Krishnagiri district secretaryship.
Jayalalithaa, in a statement, said Munusamy was also being removed from the party’s disciplinary committee, which has only three other members, including Finance Minister O Panneerselvam, and replaced him with Salem Rural Secretary and Highways and Minor Ports Minister Edappady K Palanisamy.
AIADMK Headquarters Secretary and Higher Education Minister P Palaniappan will take over the party matters in Krishnagiri till someone is duly appointed to the post.
Jayalalithaa is continuing to take action against party personnel wherever the party feels it should have done better in the recently held Lok Sabha elections in the State, though the AIADMK swept the State winning 37 out of 39 seats.
