Puducherry:
Union Minister of State, Prime Minister’s Office, V Narayanasamy filed his nomination along with AINRC candidate R Radhakrishnan, PMK candidate R K R Anantharaman and DMK candidate A M H Nazeem on April 5, 2014.
On the last day to file nomination, 23 persons filed their papers. In all, 41 candidates are in the fray.
Of the candidates, 26 are Independents and the remaining are from the AIADMK, AINRC, Congress, DMK, PMK, CPI (ML), CPI, AAP, BSP, SP, Janata Dal (United), a release from the Elections Department said.
Scrutiny of nominations would be taken up on April 7 by Returning Officer S B Deepak Kumar. April 9 is the last date for withdrawal of nominations. The expenditure monitoring team and general observers for scrutiny of nominations are examining the relevant papers.
49 flying squads and 37 static surveillance teams have been deployed here, the release said.
