Chief Minister and AIADMK Joint Co-ordinator Edappadi K. Palaniswami of AIADMK leads by 19,903 votes over nearest rival T. Sampath Kumar of DMK in Edappadi
constituency.
Edappadi K. Palaniswami (AIADMK): 30,169 (69.97%)
T. Sampath Kumar (DMK): 10,266 (23.81 %)
N. Sekar (AMMK): 117 (0.27 %)
Dhasappa Raj (MNM): 302 (0.7 %)
Sriratna (NTK): 1,335 (3.1 %)
The seat was won by Edappadi K. Palaniswami of AIADMK by 42,022 votes (18.68 per cent) in 2016. Palaniswami won the seat in 1989, 1991, 2011 and 2016.
AIADMK lost the seat in 1996 and 2006 to PMK.
