Noted film lyricist Na Muthukumar dead

The Tamil film industry was shocked as noted film lyricist Na Muthukumar passed away in Chennai today, following illness. He
was 41, and was reportedly suffering from jaundice.
Born in Kancheepuram on July 12, 1975. He had twice won the National Award for best lyrics -- Thanga Meengal and Saivam. He had also won the State Government award, and Filmfare award for best lyrics.
He has also authored several books.
He had written over 1,500 songs.
Muthukumar had worked as an assistant of director Balu Mahendra for some time before taking up lyrics full time.
Directors Vikraman, Samudhrakani, Vetrimaran, lyricist Madhan Karky and Gangei Amaran were among those who condoled his death.
