South superstar Rajinikanth, hero of the hi-tech 3D film Kochadaiiyaan directed by his daughter Saundarya, says he is just an actor and doesn't know anything about technology.
Rajinikanth, who is in Mumbai for the launch of the Hindi trailer of Kochadaiiyaan, said in an emotional speech that he was overwhelmed to hear the praise of his daughter's work coming from such greats as Amitabh Bachchan, Subhash Ghai, Shekar Kapur, and Balki among others.
"Its an emotional moment and I don't have words. It's so nice to see you all after a long time. Last time I was here for my film Robot and the film was one its kind... now I am here for Kochadaiiyaan' which is highly technological. But I am only an actor and I don't know anything about technology and
God has made me do this film.... it is all God's play."
"I am amazed... Saundarya, in her childhood, had this obsession. She liked to read books with pictures and my wife identified her talent and encouraged her. I am proud of her with all the legends praising my daughter. I hope people like the film."
Kochadaiiyaan is the first in the country to have used the motion picture technology and would create a new benchmark in Indian film history.
Directed by Saundarya, Kochadaiiyaan features Rajnikanth and Deepika Padukone in the lead, and also includes Jackie Shroff, with music by A R Rahman.
