AIADMK Legislature Party meeting on at party headquarters

The ruling AIADMK Legislature Party meeting is now on at party headquarters in Chennai. Number two in the cabinet, O Panneerselvam, senior ministers, party functionaries, MLAs were attending the meeting, party sources said.
At the earlier meeting of the legislature party in the evening, no formal business was transacted, party sources said. It was then decided to hold the meeting on Monday night or Tuesday. Accordingly, the meeting of MLAs was being held on Monday night, party sources said.
Meanwhile, police security had been tightened on the route from the private hospital to the chief minister's Poes Garden residence, and also in front of the house.
Police had lined up the road from the hospital to the chief minister's residence.
The AIIMS team had left the hospital on Monday night.
It was a day of high drama at the most unlikely of places --the Apollo Hospitals -- with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa grimly battling for life while her party made subtle moves to find a successor and a section of the Tamil media jumping the gun with reports of her death in the evening.
