An announcement by Kasturi and Sons, which runs The Hindu, said, "In tune with the newspaper's 135-year-old tradition, this tailored edition will provide to readers in the region, quality journalism with a mix of regionally relevant news as well as news of national and international significance, informed and varied commentary and a wide range of features."
