Chennai:
Akkenam revolves around the Tamil words Ayutha Ezhuthu
The title of a forthcoming Tamil film is Akkenam which is a verbal translation of the Tamil words Ayutha Ezhuthu, explains its director Uday K.
The three dots, ellipsis, at the end of a sentence convey the idea of continuation, but the dots form a triangle to depict the Tamil Aayutha Ezhuthu. Uday K’s film Akkenam reunites real-life father and daughter, actors Arun Pandian and Keerthi Pandian on the silver screen. They had previously acted in the Tamil remake of the Malayalam film Helen, Anbirkiniyal, directed by Gokul.
Director Uday says it is an action-filled revenge thriller drama with a gripping screenplay. Each character has a motive, impacting the other characters in the film. Uday was inspired by a woman cab driver’s life whom he met one day.
The move highlights the crime scenario in many States.
Arun Pandian is also the producer of the film.
Uday K had earlier made a short film Yakkai Thiri in 2022.
Akkenam features Adithya Shivpink as the antagonist, besides Ramesh Thilak, GM Sundar, Adithya Menon and Seetha.
Many of the unit are debutants who had earlier worked with Uday in his short film. Cinematography is by Vignesh Govindarajan, music by Barath Veeraraghavan, lyrics by Chandy, editing by Devathyan and art direction by Raja. The background score and parts of three songs were recorded in Budapest.
