Chennai:
A producer of Puli has said that the issue of payment pending to Sri Devi had been amicably sorted out.
Actress Sridevi had recently filed a complaint with the Mumbai Producers' Council against the makers of Puli for failing to pay her Rs 50 lakh, part of her payment, which was to be given after the release of the movie. Later, the producers of Puli released to the press a statement giving details of the payment to Sridevi and they had said that they would soon settle the issue. Now, both the sides have amicably settled the issue.
One of the producers of Puli, Shibu Thameens, said, "We have great respect for Sridevi madam, so, we didn't want this issue to get misconstrued by the media. We have not returned the money, but we have spoken over phone and amicably sorted the issue, reaching an understanding that will benefit both the parties."
A source explained that the producers had pointed out how the amount mentioned by Sridevi was included in the 20% of the film's Hindi version's satellite rights revenue, that had already been given to her. When this was explained to Sri Devi, the matter was resolved.
