The muhurat shot of Superstar Rajinikanth's next film Lingaa was filmed opposite the Chamundeshwari temple in Mysore on May 3 morning. Earlier, a pooja was held at the temple, attended by Rajinikanth, Kannada film star and Karnataka minister for Housing M H Ambarish and his wife Sumalatha, and director K S Ravikumar.
Fans of Rajni had waited at the temple from 4 a.m. to have a glimpse of the actor.
Ambarish said Rajni was a popular actor and had fans all over the world. He added it was a matter of pride that Rockline Venkatesh from Karnataka was producing the film.
The mnovie will be shot in Mandya and Kerala, Venkatesh said.
Rajni plays two roles in the film, with Sonakshi Sinha and Anushka being the two heroines. Music for the film is by A R Rahman.
Sonakshi Sinha, who makes her Kollywood debut with Lingaa, will feature in the first schedule of the project, it is said.
Lingaa happens to be the name of Rajni's grandson (second son of daughter Aishwarya and son-in-law Dhanush).
