Actor Ajith Kumar's next film will be directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon. The news has already created a buzz in Kollywood.
The project has been announced by producer A M Rathnam and Sri Satya Sai Movies.
The much-awaited movie of the combo was launched on April 9. The cast and crew will be announced shortly.
The film is expected to be a thriller. Gautham Menon's thrillers with Surya and Kamal Haasan had turned out to be block-busters. Ajith fans expect a similar response from the combo.
Gautham Menon has tweeted in his Twitter page, “Thank you for waiting, all you eager beavers out there, some patiently, some not so. Ajith, ratnam sir and me. Shoot begins 9th.. I can’t wait to announce the rest of the cast and crew. Especially music. Please wait for a special announcement about the music director”.
At the moment, the untitled movie is called Thala 55.
It appears that Ajith will be paired with Anushka, although there is speculation that Gautham Menon is also approaching Trisha to play an important role in the movie.
A search is also on for a senior Tamil actor to play the villain in the film. Arvind Swamy has denied reports that he is being considered for the role. There is also speculation that Arun Vijay could be a choice too.
