New Delhi:
BJP leader OP Sharma, who has been accused of assaulting a man outside Patiala House court complex, was on February 18 questioned for 8 hours by the Delhi Police.
The BJP MLA from Delhi was arrested after questioning, but released immediately on bail.
"He was arrested under charges of causing hurt and later granted bail," said a senior police official.
After coming out of the police station, Sharma told reporters, "If someone has to pay such a price for stopping a person who raised pro-Pakistan slogans, then I have got nothing to say."
Sharma, a first-time MLA, presented himself before the Tilak Marg police station for questioning at 11am.
The police had on Wednesday issued summons to him as well as three lawyers in connection with the assault on journalists and JNU students and teachers at the court complex on Monday.
